“Verification needed — please re-link your card”

Why this happens

The app lost the verified link between your card and your identity — usually after an app update, a card reissue, or a security re-check. You need to re-link the card (which re-runs 3D Secure).

How to fix it

    Open Alipay → Me → Bank Cards (or WeChat → Me → Services → Wallet → Bank Cards).

  2. 2

    Tap the affected card → Remove / Unlink.

  3. 3

    Re-add the same card. The 3D Secure prompt will reappear — complete it.

  4. 4

    Make sure your passport verification is still valid. If the app also asks to re-verify identity, do that first (see the identity re-verify guide).

  5. 5

    Test with a small payment (under ¥20) before relying on it.
